My Mom used ERA laundry detergent for washing clothes when I was a kid growing up in the 1970's and 80s . It was affordable and did a great job getting stains out and used it for other cleaning projects like washing the car or cleaning vinal siding.
Now use it.
ERA is the same formula as original Tide both are proctor and gamble both are the same formula the only difference is the price. I have found ERA at Walmart , walmart neighborhood stores and family dollar. Kroger owned stores like King Soopers has quit selling it in favor of higher priced detergent.
So don't by vale or gernaric detergent
Just buy ERA your clothes will be clean , smell nice and you will save money over the price of premium detergent without sacrificing quallity you don't have to sacrifice price for quality
ERA is the best I've ever used
I just wanted to take a moment to thank the makers of Era Detergent. My family has a camp along a creek bed here in Louisiana. After Hurricane Delta last week, our camp got flooded. The storm dropped more than 20 inches, our camp and other buildings flooded, putting 4 1/2 feet of water sand and silt in our camp. We had a lot of towels, linens, rags, and quilts and doilies handed down from Aunts and other family members who are no longer with us. It took several days for us to be able to get in there to get our stuff out and try to rebuild. Although we may not be able to rebuild, I was able to salvage a lot of my family gifts thanks to your product. It may not seem like a lot to you, but those aprons from my grandmother and quilts from my grandmother and aunts make my loss just a little easier.
This is the only detergent that will take the odor out when our 16 year old dog had accidents. Even worse to remove are cat stains and odors...this removes those as well. It smells great and even though I have the worlds most sensitive skin, I haven’t had an issue with it. I do remember my mom using it in the 80’s and they have changed it a little since then but it works well in my front load washer. Can’t complain! Check out YouTube for old commercials. Very nostalgic.
I have used era for years. I could not find any laundry detergent that would take out stains and left my clothes smelling clean after they were washed. My children were active in softball and baseball. It took out grass stains and red dirt stains that other detergent did not. I don’t know what has changed but the detergent seems like it doesn’t clean my clothes for everyday wear. Would like to get back the way it used to be. Seems like Dawn gets out more stains than era does.
I've used this detergent for years. It's always been great. However, I feel like it's gotten watered down recently. It used to be a thicker consistency and a deeper blue color. I'll still use it, but wish it would return to the older formula.
I love the scent of Era. I can only find it at Walmart, Sometimes it is sold out. It gets out a lot of different stains.

The scent is a nice mild, light, not overbearing scent. It leaves my clothes smelling clean but not like flowers or fruit... just clean. I always get complimented. It works very well on stains too! But it’s getting impossible to find it anywhere!!!! It used to be at my local grocers... Acme, KMart, RiteAid, Target... but I cannot find them anywhere anymore. I’ve been ordering on amazon as a last resort. I’m hoping it’s back in a store soon!
I really like this laundry detergent but getting hard to find would like to know why so hard to find
I love this laundry detergent, is the best for preventing stains on clothes and towels. It is so hard to find it anymore, and that is a shame. I have used this product since the early 80's, it preformed then and now better than any other product I've had to try, ok Tide was fine also. I hope P&G does not do away with Era Laundry detergent.
